How Chiropractic Adjustments Work
A chiropractic assessment is required before any treatment can be completed. The assessment is a comprehensive diagnostic procedure that chiropractors use to identify the cause of your pain and to recommend the most appropriate treatment. A chiropractor will ask you about your symptoms, medical history, and current health conditions, and will also perform a physical examination. After assessing your condition, the chiropractor may recommend adjustments, spinal manipulation, or a combination of both. During your 40 minutes assessment, you will likely be treated. Your Chiropractor will also guide you to understand more about your condition and show you how you can be involved in your own treatment plan. A chiropractic assessment should be performed every 6 to 12 months or before treating any new injury type.
