The staff and practitioners within the Department of Student Wellness collectively pursue a culture of well-being, learning, inclusion and respect for all who study, work and visit here. Student Wellness is comprised of seven service units designed to help promote students’ optimal health and well-being and help them achieve success in their academic careers. We encourage students to seek assistance and access our services

The department itself is part of the Division of Student Affairs.

Student Wellness provides leadership in building a healthy campus community.  We facilitate the development of the whole person by utilizing innovative strategies to promote the students optimal wellbeing and to achieve success in their academic careers.

Our mission is to provide comprehensive health promotion, disease prevention and primary medical care to full-time and part-time, undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Guelph.

  • Open Monday to Thursday 8:30am to 4:30pm
  • Appointments can be booked by calling 519-824-4120 x52131 between 8:30am to 4:30pm from Monday to Friday. For more information, visit the Booking An Appointment page. Same-day appointments are limited and can be booked Monday through Thursday until they are full starting at 8:30am.

Counselling 519-824-4120 x52131

University of Guelph, Counselling Services offers several resources, including both individual and group counselling to support students as they work through personal challenges that affect their ability to succeed at school and in other areas of their lives. We also support staff and faculty to respond to student concerns. Counselling Services has no fee required at time of service. Sessions are offered by phone, in-person or video (as guidelines allow).

Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Support & Education

This office provides leadership in prevention and intervention programs to support survivors of sexual and gender-based violence at the University of Guelph, and to enhance the conditions and likelihood of personal and academic success. Questions? Connect with us at accessibility@uoguelph.ca

  • Contact S&GBV Support Coordinator (Assists students with coordinating academic accommodations, referrals to physical and mental health services, coordination of care, discussing reporting options, Safety planning, and/or additional support identified by survivors)

External Referrals to Student Wellness Services

If you would like to refer a patient/client to one of our Student Wellness Services, please fill out the Student Wellness Services External Referral Form. The form requires a licensed physician, nurse, psychologist, social worker or psychotherapist to complete it. Referral forms from any other sources will not be accepted at this time. Please fax your completed form to 519-821-2308, along with all relevant supporting documentation attached.

Please note: If you are referring to the Health and Performance Centre (HPC), the external referral form is not required. Please fax your referral documentation directly to the HPC at 519-821-4007
