Relaxation, NSDR, & Stress Management Skills
Get off to a good start this semester with stronger stress management skills!
Learn how to integrate brief, effective self-regulation techniques into daily activities to cope well through the midst of stressful situations.
Practice a variety of powerful research-based techniques that promote Non-Sleep Deep Rest (NSDR) and recovery from stress.
Practical strategies for thriving under pressure are practiced in and out of each session to develop lifetime skills in decreasing stress and enhancing immune function, energy and performance. This program is especially helpful for those experiencing anxiety, headaches, insomnia, and exam stress.
Training twice a week for 6 weeks maximizes practice, strong skill development, and continuity to help you keep a more even keel throughout the semester.

Designed by Living Works, SafeTALK is a 3.5 hours alertness training and certification that prepares anyone, regardless of prior experience or training, to become a suicide-alert helper. The SafeTALK trainer will demonstrate the importance of suicide alertness, assist participants to identify ways people invite help, and connect them with resources to help them when they are at risk.

Join us as we light Johnston Hall purple to raise awareness of the 16 Days of Activism campaign. There will be speeches done by on-campus and community partners to honour survivors, raise awareness about gender-based violence, reflect on our collective role in creating safer communities, and discuss how to take a stand against gender-based violence.

16 Days of Activism Against Gender-based Violence: Masculinity Myths - Exploring Healthy Masculinity and the Manosphere
Come visit this tabling session run by our SAFE peer team to learn about how masculinity shows up in today’s world. This session explores the rise of the “manosphere” which are online spaces that influence how men and boys think about gender, identity, and relationships. There will also be activities and resources to unpack the myths perpetuated by online manosphere culture. Those who participate in this tabling session will be able to receive free prizes!

It’s easy to talk about red flags but what does a healthy, supportive relationship actually look like? Join Registered Social Worker, Robyn Ocean for an interactive workshop that goes beyond identifying warning signs to focus on the skills, boundaries, and communication strategies that help relationships thrive. This session will also cover signs to watch out for that can lead to an unhealthy relationship and how to leave unhealthy relationships safely.

Trivia & Outreach Table for 16 Days of Activism
The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence is a global campaign started by the United Nations to engage individuals, communities and decision makers in actions to support the prevention and end of gender-based violence in all its forms.
Stop by our outreach table to test your knowledge about healthy relationships and gender-based violence with a game of engaging trivia. You will receive an understanding of the 16 Days of Activism Campaign along with the events that we have lined up for the week to raise awareness of gender-based violence prevention. Those who participate will be able to receive free prizes!
