Campus Alcohol Recovery Room (CARR)
The Campus Alcohol Recovery Room (CARR) is a safe, supportive space for students to recover from alcohol intoxication in a non-medical environment. The CARR Support Team does not provide medical treatment – instead, they will assess, monitor and support students until they are well enough to return home.
CARR is always:
- Voluntary: students may leave at any time
- Confidential: use of this service will not be reflected on medical or academic records
- Non-judgmental: the CARR Support Team uses a harm reduction approach to recovery
CARR is a program through U of G's Student Wellness Services, in partnership with Stonehenge Therapeutic Community.

How to Use CARR
CARR is a drop-off program. Students may refer their friends to CARR. Campus Safety Officers, FRT, RAs and other staff may also refer students. We ask that anyone referring a student accompanies them to CARR until they have been admitted by the CARR Support Team. Once someone is admitted to CARR, the person referring them is free to leave.
