Available Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Awareness Training, University of Guelph

The University of Guelph provides a variety of trainings available to staff, faculty, and students on responding to Sexual and Gender-Based Violence on Campus. Training categories are divided into Introductory, Intermediate and Specialized Trainings (available upon request).

Facilitated Training for Staff and Faculty: Responding to Disclosures, Consent in the Workplace, and Understanding Your Obligations Under the Sexual Violence Policy

This training is facilitated by the S&GBV Centre to provide staff and faculty with the skills to respond to disclosures of sexual and gender-based violence, gain necessary tools for navigating power dynamics and consent, increase awareness about support resources, and to increase knowledge about obligations under the University of Guelph Sexual Violence Policy.

Available to all staff, student staff, and faculty 90 minutes

Fall 2023 Dates:

Wednesday, November 15th 4:00-5:30 (In-Person JT Powell 1146)

Winter 2024 Dates:

Additional Trainings: 

In addition to the training opportunities outlined above, the S&GBV Centre offers many trainings, workshops and other opportunities to gain skills for preventing and addressing S&GBV by request. Possible topics include (but are not limited to):

The S&GBV Centre can deliver workshops and trainings to any student, staff or faculty group, club or department in different formats including in-person, virtual or hybrid. Possible options include:

  • Inviting us for a workshop/training

  • Inviting us for a guest lecture (faculty)
