Consent Action Week by Student Wellness at U of G

From January 19–23, 2026, we observe Consent Action Week (CAW) at the University of Guelph. CAW is an annual event observed across Ontario universities and colleges, promoting consent, preventing sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) and building safer campus communities

During CAW, Student Wellness is hosting events, workshops and educational activities designed to: 

  • Educate students, staff, and faculty about consent and healthy relationships,
  • Challenge myths about sexual violence, and
  • Build skills around consent, communication, bystander intervention, and creating a safer campus community

Drop-in Table @ the UC

Thursday, January 15 • tba • UC Courtyard

Drop by the SAFE (Sexual Assault Free Environment) table in the UC Courtyard to chat with SAFE Peers, learn about upcoming Consent Action Week events. Snacks and giveaways will be provided.

Consent & Connections Resource Fair

Monday, January 19 • 12:00 – 3:00pm • UC Courtyard

Join us in the UC Courtyard for an interactive fair where students can explore on- and off-campus supports related to sexual and gender-based violence. Connect with campus partners and community organizations, ask questions and discover services designed to support your safety, wellbeing and empowerment. Collect a stamp card, visit at least 4 tables, and spin the prize wheel to get a prize plus enter the grand prize draw!

Graduate Research Panel 

Wednesday, January 21 • 5:30 – 7:00pm • University Centre 441

Hear from graduate students sharing about their research that advances understanding of sexual and gender-based violence topics. Learn how research can strengthen prevention efforts, support survivors and contribute to creating safer, more inclusive environments. All are welcome to attend. Those who attend will receive an opportunity to enter a raffle to win a grand prize! Free dinner will be provided.

Frosty Mug at the Sleeman Centre

Thursday, January 22 • 6:00 – 9:00pm • Sleeman Centre

Join the SAFE Team at Guelph’s winter homecoming event, The Frosty Mug! Stop by our booth at the Sleeman Centre to learn quick, practical tips about consent, safer partying and campus supports. This is a great chance to connect, ask questions and pick up resources before cheering on the Gryphons. Attendees will receive free prizes!
