New to SAS? Services are Available

Posted on Tuesday, September 1st, 2020

SAS continues to be available to students with disabilities and to collaborate with our campus partners. Although we are primarily working remotely, we are responding to general inquiries, the front desk in the JT Powell Building is staffed during regular business hours, and SAS advisors are still meeting with students. Appointments are generally conducted via Microsoft Teams or on the phone.

Please note that students who have been assigned to an SAS advisor can access our drop-in service starting Monday, September 14, 2020. Drop-in appointments will be booked for the next business day by contacting our front desk. They are typically 15 to 20 minutes long and for time-sensitive matters only.

Where to Start

If you are new to SAS and trying to figure out where to begin, here are a couple of tips:

If you have a new mental health concern and you are not currently receiving care from a professional, please contact our front desk to book an appointment with a Student Wellness Navigator (519-824-4120 ext. 52131). Appointments are usually available within about two days, and will help you find the right type of help for your situation. In addition, we have services available for more urgent needs.

For all other students who wish to register with SAS, please have a look at our intake page.

If you have questions about supporting documentation or need assistance with navigating our intake process, please contact M.C. Murray. You may also ask for a short meeting with M.C. to discuss your needs.

Important: Tests & Exams

If you use the SAS Exam Centre, please remember that all test and exam bookings must be submitted at least 10 BUSINESS DAYS ahead of when you intend to write.

In addition, the last day any bookings can be received is the first business day in November, March or July as appropriate for the semester.
