Volunteer with START Accessible!
Volunteering with START Accessible is a great opportunity to help incoming students with disabilities get adjusted to university life! Day one is a full day of programming, with a welcome session, information fair and a variety of social events. On day two, we will host tours and provide students the opportunity to connect with their advisors for the school year. Volunteers assist with wayfinding, campus tours, check-ins, engagement, campus navigation and facilitation for social activities. Training will be provided for all events.
Date: Thursday, August 29 and Friday, August 30
Hours: Shifts range from 3½ to 8 hours per day (volunteers can choose a schedule that works for them!)
Who should apply: Any U of G student (undergrad and grad) is welcome to apply - no previous experience required! If you are passionate about IEDI and supporting students with accessibility needs in their transition to university life, we would highly encourage you to apply. There is a variety of programming ranging from more formal introductions to resources to one-on-one social activities to help engage with incoming students as they navigate spaces on campus.
