IDeA Competition: Help Make Canada More Accessible

The IDeA competition challenges university students across Canada to use their creativity to develop innovative, cost-effective and practical solutions to accessibility barriers for people with disabilities.

Students in all programs – including architecture, arts, business, computer science, early childhood education, engineering, industrial design, medicine, nursing, political science, psychology, sociology and social work – are encouraged to enter the competition.

Universities Canada is proud to administer the IDeA student competition on behalf of Employment and Social Development Canada.

COVID-19 Update

Due to the challenges and disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 IDeA competition – originally scheduled to close on April 30, 2020 – has been deferred and will be integrated into this year’s 2021 competition.
