IDeA Competition: Help Make Canada More Accessible
The IDeA competition challenges university students across Canada to use their creativity to develop innovative, cost-effective and practical solutions to accessibility barriers for people with disabilities.
Students in all programs – including architecture, arts, business, computer science, early childhood education, engineering, industrial design, medicine, nursing, political science, psychology, sociology and social work – are encouraged to enter the competition.
Universities Canada is proud to administer the IDeA student competition on behalf of Employment and Social Development Canada.
Due to the challenges and disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 IDeA competition – originally scheduled to close on April 30, 2020 – has been deferred and will be integrated into this year’s 2021 competition.
Contest Deadline is April 30, 2021
