HPC Frequently Asked Questions

Below are various resources that may help at your first appointment, or to help you find new ideas to manage your health and performance.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Are any of HPC's services covered by the Ministry of Health (OHIP)?

Sports medicine physician’s appointments are covered by the Ontario Ministry of Health with a valid health card. Other provincial plans may be eligible. If for any reason, the Ministry of Health denies coverage for the fees associated with your sport medicine physician’s appointment, you are responsible for the full payment.

Do I require a physician’s referral to visit HPC?

For sports medicine, a referral is required by your family doctor if you are within the family health network.

A physician’s referral is not required to access all other services at the HPC, however many extended health plans require a physician’s referral in order to be eligible for coverage. It is recommended you contact your insurance provider for the details of your plan.
