COVID-19 Update

Submitted by btownshe on March 30th, 2022 11:54 AM

Students who are using the SAS Exam Centre are still required to wear a mask, comply with the vaccine mandate, and use standard distancing practices. These requirements will be in place until the end of April. Individuals who do not wear a mask in the Exam Centre may be turned away without the opportunity to complete their test/exam.

For information about what to expect as the campus heads into final exams, you may wish to review the university's full COVID-19 update for March 30 [1]. Here are a couple of highlights:

  • Labs, lectures and exams may shift to remote delivery if there is a cluster of cases in a learning environment. Instructors will let students know if such a change is needed.

  • If you’re sick, stay home, contact the COVID-19 call centre [2] and complete a Student Self-Declaration form [3]. You are not required to provide proof of illness (i.e., medical documentation) if you miss a lecture, lab or assessment due to illness or isolation requirements.

  • If you get sick and will miss an exam, contact your program counsellor [4] immediately.

  • Free rapid testing kits provided by the Government of Ontario are available from local pharmacies and grocery stores. U of G has also ordered additional rapid testing kits for students. Pickup locations will be provided when we receive our order.
