Use of a Word Processor

Body:

Using a Word Processor for Tests and Exams

If your SAS Advisor has approved the use of a word processor for your tests or exams, you need to follow the steps below to make sure one is ready for you on the day of your exam.

Step 1: Confirm the Exam Format

  • Talk to your professor well before the test or exam date.
  • Make sure the exam includes written answers. Word processors are not usually needed for multiple-choice tests.
  • SAS does not automatically know what type of exam you will be writing—you must confirm this.

Step 2: Book Your Exam with Word Processor

  • When booking your test or exam with SAS, clearly state that you need a word processor.
  • If you don’t request it in advance, a word processor may not be available on the day of your exam.
  • SAS word processors do not have internet access. If your test or quiz is online, you’ll need to make arrangements with your professor directly.

If you have questions about using a word processor for tests or exams, contact your SAS Advisor or the SAS Exam Centre well before your scheduled test.
