Proctors, Readers & Scribes

Proctors

  • Graduate students or adults
  • Receive training on exam procedures
  • Part-time, casual staff
  • Scheduled to work as needed

 

Readers and scribes

  • Do not explain, interpret, or offer any help on exams
  • Usually do not have expertise in the subject area
  • When an exam demands a scribe/reader who is familiar with notations and taxonomy of the discipline, SAS will consult with the instructor to find an appropriate person to fill the role
  • Part-time, casual staff
  • Scheduled to work as needed
  • Only hired when adaptive technology doesn’t meet a student’s needs
