Academic Advising [7]
Program counsellors and faculty advisors can help you make choices that lead to academic success. They can help you navigate your program and plan out your academic journey.
Are you struggling with your academic commitments? Depending on your situation, there may be specific academic supports that can be considered.
As indicated in the University Calendar for Academic Consideration [1], "documentation" is required whenever psychological/emotional grounds are identified as the primary reason for academic difficulties.
Counsellors cannot guarantee that letters of academic support will be written as each case is individually assessed.
Letters of academic support are not provided from Drop-In Appointments (except in highly extenuating circumstances).
The University of Guelph Library offers several free resources to help students succeed academically [6]. Learn study skills, meet with course-specific study groups, or meet with a program counsellor to get started on the right foot.

Adjusting your learning and studying approaches to an online environment can be difficult. The library has tips and resources for learning, taking tests, and presenting online as well as strategies to maintain motivation to study.
The library offers individual appointments, workshops, programs, and resources to help students in all programs to develop the skills and strategies they need to learn effectively and achieve their goals.
The library offers free and confidential one-on-one appointments on a variety of topics. You can also attend a workshop on topics including writing, learning, research, English as an additional language, and more.
The SAM program is a resource for all student-athletes that aims to improve academic performance. Mentors are upper-year student-athletes who are empathetic, open-minded, and knowledgeable about campus resources.
