- Some of the reasons low appetite may occur, including stress, anxiety, depression, medication
- The difference between hunger and appetite
- Strategies to manage low appetite so that it doesn’t further contribute to low mood, low energy, or poor concentration and focus

safeTALK Suicide Prevention Training
Designed by Living Works, SafeTALK is a 3.5 hours alertness training and certification that prepares anyone, regardless of prior experience or training, to become a suicide-alert helper. The SafeTALK trainer will demonstrate the importance of suicide alertness, assist participants to identify ways people invite help, and connect them with resources to help them when they are at risk.
Recommended for: Individuals who are not mental health experts but who might have on-going relationships with people who have mental health issues and/or where the individual is in a position of authority or leadership, or those who are looking to be more prepared to help those around them who may be struggling with thoughts of suicide.
This training is open to all U of G students, staff, and faculty.
Cost to participate: None
Length: 3.5 hours
*please note that attendance for the entire 3.5 hours is necessary to receive certification

We'll teach you everything you need to know and provide everything you need to play!
Participants need to be able to attend all 6 weeks (2-hour sessions), from the week of February 26th to the week of April 1st (the last full week of classes).

Building a Plant-Rich Diet
A plant-rich diet is a diet that contains more plants! This means fruits, veggies, grains, and protein sources from plants like legumes, nuts, and tofu. A plant-rich diet does not need to be a strictly vegetarian or vegan diet.

- The risks and benefits of a plant-rich diet
- Nutrients of concern when following a plant-rich diet and the role of supplements

The Body Project is a workshop that aims to promote positive body image, reduce body shaming, and encourage folks to accept themselves as they are. Our peer facilitators are excited to share some empowering messages about the 'Image Ideal' and help you learn to love your body just a little bit more.
This workshop and its content are inclusive of all genders - all are welcome!
What you need to know:
- Participants must be able to attend both sessions (Tuesday February 13th and Tuesday February 27th at 5:00pm-7:00pm)- This workshop is virtual on MS Teams
- Participants are expected to have their cameras on throughout both sessions
- Participants who attend both sessions will receive a $15 Presidents Choice gift card following the 2nd session (gift cards can be used at stores such as Zehrs, No Frills, etc. Alternate gift cards can be arranged if you don't have a PC store near you)
- Content Warning: The Body Project deals with topics of body image, fatphobia, etc., and involves conversations and exercises that deal with these topics.

Mocktail Making in Maritime
Join us in the Eccles Centre in South Residence on Wednesday January 31st from 6:30-7:30pm for a fun session of mocktail making! Help us kick off Dry February just right (and a little early) by learning about how to make fun mocktails you can have with friends and then sipping them over some board games.
Some of the mocktails we'll be making include a candy cane hot cocoa, an alcohol-free mi-no-sa, a dry sangria, and lemonade alternatives. We hope to see you there Gryphons!
